I went to America last year, and chose to get to the airport by underground train. It was a huge mistake, because I struggled to get on to a packed carriage with an enormous suitcase, and arrived at the terminal building in a fractious and irritable state. It wasn’t a good start to what was supposed to be a holiday.
This year, I used a Heathrow meet and greet service instead, and it was so much simpler. I just drove there and was met by a representative, who took the car to a secure place until I returned to the UK.
Use Heathrow meet and greet, and stay sane!
